ELECT
Serving the Citizens of Storey County since 2013
I’m Jay Carmona, and I’m running for Justice of the Peace in Storey County, Nevada. I have proudly called Storey County home since 2005, raising my family and building my life in the Virginia City Highlands. For over a decade since 2013, I have served as President of the Virginia City Highlands Property Owners Association where I’ve mediated neighbor disputes, enforced covenants fairly and consistently, resolved conflicts with common sense solutions, and ensured that everyone regardless of their side felt heard and treated with respect.
Since 2019, as your Storey County Commissioner, I’ve continued that same approach on a larger scale: working directly with law enforcement, overseeing public safety policies, managing county resources responsibly, and making tough decisions that uphold the rule of law while protecting the rights and interests of our residents. This unique combination of long-term community leadership and proven county government experience has prepared me better than anyone to serve as your next Justice of the Peace. I understand our rural Nevada way of life. I know how to listen, how to remain impartial, and how to apply the law fairly whether it’s a small claims case, a traffic matter, an eviction, a protection order, or any other issue that comes before the court.
My commitment is simple, I will run an accessible, efficient, and no-nonsense courtroom that respects your time, protects your rights, and delivers justice with integrity and compassion. Storey County deserves a Justice of the Peace who already knows our community inside and out, one who has spent nearly 14 years serving it.
Thank you for your trust and I look forward to your vote in November.
